Happy Saturday, peeps! Enjoying the weather? I know I am!!

As we speak, and as I type this, there are a bunch of kids playing around near my house. A headache waiting to happen? Of course. But still, pretty cool to see people enjoy the weather. Plus, they have ice cream....which I'm eating right now. No shame in that whatsoever.

But enough with that tangent. Lets be real: today is a beautiful day, and pretty much EVERYONE should be outside enjoying it. After all, mother nature is giving us a reprieve as far as rain is concerned (until tomorrow), so we have to get outside at some point! Me? I have a grad party to go to tonight, and personally I can't wait. Why? The person who the party is for is a dear friend of mine, and I'm gonna miss the dude when he's off to college.

So why did I post this blog entry? Well, I did promise I would update frequently. So long story short: have fun today, be smart, and enjoy the weather however you (all while being smart, of course)!!

One more thing...pardon my indulgence.

There's something about a clear, starry night that gets me more sentimental than usual. And yes, before you ask, I do have a sentimental side.

It's hard
not to just sit back, relax, and think when it's so beautiful out. Sure, there's such thing as "thinking too much", but on nights like these, it makes positive thinking a bit easier. And Lord knows I need positive thinking.

For instance:

1. The people who are 100% there for you, but are outside your family. Needless to say, your "second family"

2. The support of all those people (speaking of which, thanks to all who are early supporters of this blog!).

3. Just the overall good things that happened throughout the day.

4. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Here's to more beautiful, and yes, even sentimental, summer nights!! Oh, and of course...

Pardon my indulgence.

I know I sound like an old man with that title, but hear me out.

The other day, I went to the park to play some basketball with friends. After about 5 games, one after the other (just for the record, my team won all but one of them), we just sat around and talked about random stuff. And THAT'S when we heard "it".

There were about 6 kids nearby, all of which were now in middle school. They looked like they were six rather than in the 6th grade, but I digress. Unfortunately, we (as in the guys I was with) all tuned into their conversation at the wrong time.

One of the little (emphasis on little) dudes, a black kid, said something about what a Polish girl of their same age said to all of us earlier (she ran around saying something...I don't know what that word was, nor how it's spelled or properly pronounced). That part of the convo went like this:

Kid: "You know what that girl said?"

Us: "No."

Kid: "It means 'dick'. I bet she'd like it if..."

I'm not going to go any further, because you get the idea. What I will say, though, is this: WHAT THE HELL?? WHERE WERE THIS KIDS PARENTS?!? HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S SIX, AND HE'S MAKING SEX JOKES?!?!?!

I'm damn near a grown-ass man, and even I don't talk like that! I mean, really! And that's not the first time I've heard little kids say things like this. I know I'm only 17 and still a kid myself, but even you guys have to admit that's, at the least, a little bit rediculous! Quite frankly, if I said ANYTHING like that at his age, my parents would've smacked me into the next century.

Pardon my indulgence.
